Well well, I normally follow cricket series in Australia with full support and enthusiasm, but with Australia dominating world cricket and the lack of competition other countries give, it has given me with some pathetic and boring cricket to watch. Even if Sri Lanka is playing, normally I get excited, but with there recent poor form in Australia I haven't been following with my heart and passion. However the last few days of the CB Series has given me hope and has woken me up! India beat Australia on Sunday night convincingly and today, Sri Lanka has finally woken up and defeated India, therefore the scores are pretty much level and tight. It will be interesting to see who will end up at the finals.

But today's game for Sri Lanka wasn't all class and charisma, Sri Lanka started off poorly with bad fielding and dodgy bowling, there fielding aren't as good as Australia, but I feel they can do heaps better. There batting started off with a bang with Sanath Jayasuriya, but he always seems to get out after only reaching 20 odd, but too his credit he gave Sri Lanka the momentum to keep on smashing and getting fast funs. Tillakaratne Dilshan batted superbly, probably the best one-day innings I've ever seen him play, and he did play a major pivotal role. Thanks to the cool head of Mahela as his partner they were able to clinch a win. But I feel Sri Lanka still has heaps of room for improvement, I think Sri Lanka was very lucky to win, but they need to work more on there overall game.

Perhaps the coaching side is echoing some of my concerns, seeing as the whole Sri Lankan team were requested to meet at the dressing rooms directly after the game as ordered by the coach. This comes from knowledge that there apparently were no post match interviews, and listening to the radio at the time, that is what the radio announcers stated. Hopefully Sri Lanka will take the positives out of today's game, and learn from the negatives and work harder in the fields and the nets. They can do better than what they did today, and I know it!
